Salt-Dough Easter Eggs

 

Get your Craft on guys - a whole family activity for the upcoming Easter holidays - DIY Salt-Dough Easter Eggs. Making the dough is fun and easy and you'll most probably have all the ingredients in your cupboard already. But don't forget -  they aren't edible!

 

What you'll need

1 cup of plain flour (about 250ml)

Half cup of table salt (about 125ml)

Half cup of water (about 125 ml)

A baking tray

Greaseproof paper

An egg shaped cookie cutter

Coloured string or ribbon

Acrylic Paints

Paint pens

 

What to do

Firstly, preheat the oven to its lowest setting and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl and add the water gradually. Stir until it comes together in a clean ball.

 

 

Transfer the dough to a floured work surface and roll it out to about 1cm thick. Use a straw or a chopstick to make a hole at the top.

Put your finished items on the baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 3 hours or until solid.

 

 

Once cooled, use acrylic paints to paint your eggs and leave to dry.

 

 

Paint pens are great for adding details like spots and zigzags.

 

 

Display on a branch, stand back, admire and feel proud!
