You won’t ever be short on things to do when it comes to Christmas! Whether it’s a market, ice-skating, meeting Santa or simply drinking a glass of mulled wine, we’ve got THE list for you and your kids.
It’s probably the most well known Christmas fair in London. Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland, which runs from the 18th November to the 2nd January is EVERYTHING you could wish for and more. From food, drinks, games and rides, we can guarantee you will not be bored!
Book tickets for the Harry Potter studio tours as they get a festive make over this winter. With added Christmas trees, a seasonal feast in the Great Hall and snow in Diagon Alley, it’s well worth a visit (especially if you’re a big Potter fan). It’s on until the 29th January so there is plenty of time to see it with the family.
For the first time ever, Leicester Square has been transformed into a traditional Christmas market along with a Santa’s Grotto for the kids. It’s great place to tick off the list if you plan on spending a day in central London.
REST OF ENGLAND
Experience an enchanted Christmas through the illuminated woods in the Cotswolds. It’s packed with other activities (for both you and the kids) such as arts and crafts, meeting Santa, drinking mulled wine and story telling. Make sure to wrap up warm!
With its bandstand, roller disco, Christmas grotto and a pop up panto, we’re pretty sure you and the kids wont get bored at the Frosted Fairground in Dreamland, Margate this Christmas!
With the idea taken from the very much-loved book and film, families can now climb aboard the ‘Polar Express’, which comes complete with hot chocolate and carols on the way to visit Santa in Seaton, Devon. It’s an awesome experience and not one to miss out on – so book ahead!
Winter Wonderland in Cardiff is the best place to get your Christmas fix this year in Wales. Giving the city an extra festive sparkle with its Alpine Village, a funfair and the open-air ice-skating rink, you won’t want to leave!
Who doesn’t love watching The Nut Cracker at Christmas? Well now you can with the incredibly talented Russian State Ballet performing at St David’s Hall in Cardiff every Saturday until Christmas Eve. It’s not something you get to see everyday so it’s well worth a visit.
What is Christmas without a good old fashioned panto?! Book tickets to see a your favourite Christmas show with the whole family at the Eden Court theatre in Inverness. The kids will love it and you may also find yourself shouting ‘it’s behind you’! This year they will be showing the classic family favourite Dick Whittington.
Another great place to visit this year is the Royal Mile, where a grand canopy of more than 60,000 lights will be lit up for Christmas. During the evening, the lights will be synchronized to bespoke musical recordings by choirs from across Edinburgh. If you plan on visiting or live near by - you can’t miss it (literally!).
Find an exciting selection of hand painted pottery, decorations and a vast selection of continental food at this year’s Belfast Christmas Market. It even has a Santa’s Grotto if you plan on bringing the kids and with an additional 20 stalls, this year’s market is set to be the best yet!
The Snowman by Raymond Briggs returns to The National Concert Hall Theatre in Dublin this Christmas. The magical story between James and his snowman is designed for the whole family to watch. So sit back, relax and grab some popcorn!
